A 24-year boy who currently studying geological technology, how he ended up pursuing as a motion designer? Here is my story...

In the early days of school life, I had a great interest in mathematics, arts, and love towards playing football but as suggested by my parents, I started preparing for IIT JEE in 11th class and with 3 years of hard work, I landed at IIT Roorkee with rank of 6180.

In my first semester, I realized I had no interest in geology, and one of my batchmates was into the design and after understanding little about the design and talking to seniors, I decided to learn design on my own. At the starting of my college second semester, I design a logo of the Sanskrit club. I continued my learning in design and in my sophomore year I joined 2 student groups on design position. As a design member, I worked on poster design for different events like- TEDx and E-Summit. during winter break I planned to learn after effects and other 3D Softwares.

In the summer vacation of my sophomore year, I applied for an internship and joined as a graphic designer at the Audegn design studio. during my internship i worked on various print work and redesigned home page of a online jewelry shop.

After the internship, I realized I don't really enjoy doing UI work. so I took a semester to think again about what I really want to do in the future. I remember working on a loader for the website during my internship which was really interesting. So I started learning After Effects from youtube videos and animating old graphics which I made for event posters.

Months of learning I decided to do an internship to get more experience. I reached out to a motion designer at Fractal Ink design studio through LinkedIn. During the internship, I worked on Icon animation, Illustration animation, and UI motion. My internship mentor introduced me with character animation and shared his experience and tips for motion and AE which really helped me. I really enjoyed working as a motion designer during my internship and decided to learn further in this field and explore more.

During my fourth year, I interned at Razorpay where I worked on a project to educate users about how payments started and made a series of animations. After that, I interned at Microsoft in summers 2019. My work at Microsoft was quite challenging, got the experience of working for a product like Office new mobile app and learned a lot.
